The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge
Eve speaks of them as a single tree. The difference is in the orientation of our minds. The vertical trees suggest worship. The horizontal trees suggest inquisition, hunger. They interlock as the Tree of Unity in the Crown Diamond, whose lines are as the Vine that grace its branches. There are twenty-four major intersections, which represent the Crowns of the Elders. The diagram in its entirety can be reconstructed from any of the twenty-four sephirot. Because both trees meet in the field of da'at, nothing is lost with focus on the Life Tree. If the focus is the Knowledge Tree, key elements are overlooked. For this reason, we are not to eat of the lesser tree: not that we should be deprived of anything, but that our fullness is determined by the Source of Light, not its receptors or reflectors.
