"Man's speech is empowered by the Breath of Life,
and it is accomplished by utilization of that Breath."

Speech is an exercise in intimacy. The mind conceives of the parameters of a saying and immediately surrenders control of the narrative to the heart, which searches among countless possibilities for an expedient first word.

Having arrived at its estimation of a suitable concept upon which to hang the thread of thought, the heart relays its key word to the mind, which scans connotations of the word choice for unintended bias, making assessment of avenues for elaboration. If there is no immediate objection to the first-word foundation, a tentative first phrase will mushroom into a naked first clause.

Keeping a lookout through retrospection as speech commences, the heart and mind conspire to bypass logical pitfalls and steer clear of marginal vulnerabilities. As one, they scan branching thoughts, doing their best to clothe subsequent sentences with appropriate verbal devices The mind, in particular, hones in on the key elements of the statement that is taking shape, even as the tongue punctuates silence with linguistic rim shots as the words are released to ring, forever, in the echo chambers of human hearts.

The processes of speech are indefensible. A person would do well to keep silent, except for the saying that, if he thinks of a thing, he have done that thing already in his heart. Thoughts and actions are simultaneous. Doing be damned.

It is not for man to program his own steps, to chose his own words. HaShem invites us to enter into his rest.

This saying is lifted from Psalm 19: "Who can discern his own errors? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Keep your servant, also, from willful sins: may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless and cleansed of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, YHWH, my strength and my Redeemer."
